MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee

This build is my third formal commission and something I was really looking forward to building. I made sure to go all out on painting this, painting all of the frame parts before assemling them to make sure there were no areas missed whatsoever. Given that the default color of the kit is a bit too blue, I resorted to mixing my own paint on this one which was also a first for me. The end result was great though and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

As far as thoughts on the kit itself goes, it’s a Unicorn Gundam. I love it to bits and it’s got the added perk of the paint tightening everything up to be nice and snug so the usual complaint people have with the model’s looseness in destroy mode is vastly eliminated. Banshee isn’t a Ver. Ka model in true fashion so it has no decal hell to go through which is nice but at the same time, it’d be alright. That’s okay though since if you’re really craving that you can get a set of the extremely popular and good-looking gold decals through various sources. The novel weapons were pulled from my first MG Unicorn Gundam, which just sits in a box now since I have a ton of other ones that are in the works/built. The overall build was completely enjoyable but I love building the Unicorn Gundam over and over and over (as mentioned before), so if you’ve worked with the kit before then you might find the build relatively dull.

As far as pictures of this go, the model is being mailed out in Destroy mode and to minimize risks regarding damaging the paint, the Unicorn mode pictures are from before the decals and thrusters were applied. It’s too bad, but better safe than sorry in this regard if you ask me.

Lastly, paints used:

Main armor: Phthalo Cyanne Blue mixed with black
Frame/Weapons: Gray FS36801
Psychoframe: Metallic Gold (#9)
Horn/Collar/Mask: Alclad II pale gold
