Here’s something neat.

Really pleased with how this number turned out so far. Still wondering if I want to change the white to grey, but then I’d have to paint the frame a darker grey. I kind of like this in it’s stock colors as-is. Even the aftermarket thrusters went on smoothly! I need to order waterslide decals still though, because I’m not trying to apply that XXXG-01D decal to the shoulder with a dry-transfer.

This kit has me itching to get to work on Shenlong and get together the cash to get the other EW Gundams. But I’ve got something special in mind for the leader of the bunch. Also as a result of using the aftermarket thusters I have pictures for an FAQ section on them. However, I’d like to keep things as in-sequence as possible so for now it won’t be added in.

It begins.

The It’s A Gundaaaam! 2011 FAQ/How-To page is now officially underway. For now I’ll be leaving the old page up as well but it’s days are now numbered.

As for this guy, I’m feeling a more traditional color scheme. The yellow has been painted on and the difference is minor, but it’s there. I think I’ll be painting the black flat black and then figuring out what to do with the white.

Hey, check it out. My box from HobbyLink Japan made it to my house yesterday and I’m trying to to waste too much time getting down to work. Unfortunately, some parts are stalling hardcore thanks it being kind of touch to come up with your own design!

Pretty sure this is how I’m going to attach the cloak on the final version, though it’ll fit much better once I start cutting. I was just playing around with ideas at this point.

I got these fitted with no problems whatsoever though! Special shout out to Gundam Guy for helping me pick thrusters out.

What on earth am I planning with this…?

Dethsupplies: Part Two

I promise the next ‘Dethsupplies’ post will have considerably more stuff in it! The first few items were rather isolated in where they were coming from, you see. With as long as some of the supplies are taking to get here, I’m going to really have to bunker down on this if I want to finish it by the 31st of this month. Also, apologies about the sheer amount of empty space in this picture!

Luckily, the missing part from my Blade Liger kit has resurfaced (It flew in to my tool box which I recently cleaned out, leading to the discovery of the part) and I’ve started- still agonizingly slow- painting in the details on the parts that I have done. The Assault Boosters are still a trainwreck with that seamline on top of it, though. Luckily, I have putty to fix that problem now! Hopefully I can get back to this soon.

Expect a few of these over the next few days as stuff comes in for my Deathscythe project.

Taking a page out of my own book of ‘poking fun at my fellow builders’. I got the test build of this done just a few minutes ago, managed to tank out the base construction in just a handful of hours. Gotta say, even straightbuilt this thing looks really nice. I’ve got big plans for this and since this blog is about gunpla (even though we haven’t had a finished kit since Musha Mk-II) I’m going to focus on wrapping this bad boy up before October is over. That’s a tall order, considering everything I have in mind for this…but the end result will be a million times better than Musha at least.

For those of you who were wondering about the flexibility of this kit, it’s great and I expect to see some really stellar scythe wielding poses from a few certain people should they pick this up. Even the ankle articulation is awesome which is something I was worried about when I saw the design. Only complaint thus far about the kit is that the skirts from the waist have a nasty habit of popping off.

Would you guys prefer a review of the kit ASAP since it’s so new and then just make a page for it when I wrap the actual project up? I’m open to ideas.
