Oh, I’ve been working on this too!

Got new parts on the way for the silver and black parts on the wing armor because there are about 5 layers of paint on there that I’m just too lazy to attempt to strip and clean up. Got some new gold stickers as well since the ones that are on there are from almost a year ago. I tightened the hip joints with CA glue and this thing can stand up fairly well on it’s own now, but for it to stand up perfectly I’ll need to take it apart and tighten the ankle and chest joints as well.

Thanks to Reddit user Raid_PW I’ve got plans to make a custom display base for Strike Freedom to make up for the utterly terrible stand that comes with the kit. I think I’ve got it figured out how I’m going to make display parts for the DRAGOON units as well.

I’ll keep you posted.

Hey man great job! Those gunplas are looking hot! Do you think you will be doing any panel lining on your kits? That makes it pop! Anyways, I’m new to this whole blog thing and gundam kit building as well. I have 4 done right now and 3 more to go that i haven’t finished yet. I can’t wait to start uploading some of my pics.

I always panel line things, but I’ve gotten in the habit of painting white over it on those parts so it’s not so stark. I think the subtle look works much better than having black on white, you can see pictures of close up details of the kit here: https://lupes.wordpress.com/2012/07/20/perfects/

Damn that’s 100% custom. I’d like to see your process man. You got a blog where you walk through it?

If you check back through the Wing Zero Custom tag you’ll see a lot of the WIP stuff for how I made it light up. As for Strike Freedom it’s nothing really fancy except putting clear colors over alclad II chrome.

spruebrothers.com stocks alclad II products, just bear in mind they are expensive and yo’ll need to get a bottle of alclad ii airbrush cleaner and in the case of chrome, a bottle of alclad ii gloss black base as well. these paints are for airbrushes as well, so if you’re using spray cans you’ll be kind of stuck.

That sucks that they dont have any metallic sprays in a can. I cant really afford an air brush at the moment. Can you recommend an alternative to the air brush liquid? Also, can you suggest a decent air brush?
